Failed Before? What's the Story on New Year Resolutions?

Why do most New Year Resolutions Fail? In my opinion it is because most peoples resolutions focus on "LOSING" something from their lives. Even if it is unhealthy fat and weight. Try this little exercise: Re-Design your New Year Resolutions to "GAIN" something like Incredible Energy, or Gain a stronger more flexible frame, or Gain a lean healthy figure. Because at the end of the day even though having too much fat on our frames is un-healthy most people don't like to "Lose" anything. What will you GAIN in 2013...

Once you have the list of What you want to Gain in 2013 finish the exercise by doing these last 4 steps in our 5 step process:

STEP 1: What will you GAIN in 2013

STEP 2: What negative (bad) things could happen to you if you don't achieve this goal in 2013? (List as many things as you can and add to the list if you think of more items.  More is Better!)

STEP 3: What postive, fantastic things will come into your life when you acheive this goal in 2013?  (List as many things as you can and add to the list when you think of more.  More is Better!)

STEP 4: What are each or any of the steps involved in acheiving your goal?  What will you have to do to attain your 2013 goal?  Write down all the steps even the little ones and dont worry they don't have to be in order...  Add to the list when you think of more.

STEP 5: Highlight the top 3 items from Step 4.  Then Choose One.  Then do something, anything to act on that one thing.  Like make a phone call, buy something online, or write it in your calender.  The key here is never leave the site of strategic planning without acting on it in someway.

Everyday simply review step 4 (add to it or subtract from it if you need) Then Repeat Step 5...  

This may be challenging at first but, the more you do it the easier it becomes!
